Mimis Nikolopoulos is a Greek composer, guitarist and music producer from Veria, Greece. He has developed a distinct sound, a result of fusion of his various influences, from the world of evocative film music, jazz, folk and world music.
In 2017, he released his debut album “Deviation”, to popular and critical acclaim. In 2018, he formed the "Mimis Nikolopoulos Band" and started to appear live on stage, across Europe.
In 2023, he presented his second album "The Way Back Home".
Recently, he completed the music for the documentary "2-3 Years", directed by Lydia Konsta. He has composed the original music for the documentaries "Letters from the Blue" by Nicola Sersale and "142 Years" by Stelios Kouloglou, which stood out at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival (TiDF) in 2024. Additionally, he composed music for the short films "Window" (2014), "Shakespeare on Death" (2015), "Forgotten" (2016), "Toni" (2021), as well as for the theatrical plays "Ecstasy" (2014), "The Events" (2015), "Song of Songs" (2017), "Solomon" (2018), and "F-X" (2023). Furthermore, his music has been used for the Sol beer campaign in Spain.
Awards:
2016: Second prize in the Greek competition "Traditional Music Today in New Compositions" (Ethnic / World Music).
2022: First prize for original score at the Istanbul Film Festival "BIFF" for his music in the film "Toni" by Roman Filiev.
