Lydia Konsta worked in theatre and TV productions before deciding to study film.
In 2003 she graduated with distinction from Northern Media School, MA Screen Arts, Sheffield Hallam University as a film director and producer. Her graduation short film, ‘The table we drag’, was nominated as the best of the year and got distributed from the British Film Council.
She was selected and participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus 2003, participating in workshops with high-level producers, actors, script writers and directors among them Wim Wenders, Dennis Hopper, Stephen Frears, Mike Figgis, Spike Lee, Tom Tykwer and Thomas Vinterberg.
Coming back to Greece she started her own production company, specializing in films, TV shows, music videos, promotional spots and more.
In 2014 she started focusing on the connection of art and war trauma, producing the feature documentary ‘Light Thickens’, that was released in 2016. The film participated in various festivals and was screened in the National Greek TV (ERT).
From 2017 until 2022 she produced and directed 56 episodes for the Greek National TV, ΕRT, for the TV documentary series “Herbs & Fruits of the Earth” (5 seasons) and “Living on the Edge” (1 season). At the same period, she also co-directed for ARTE an episode of the TV Series “In the belly of the city”. In 2022 Lydia published the children’s book “The secrets of garden and gardeners” in cooperation with Ellinoekdotiki Publishing.
Τoday she lives and works in Thessaloniki and is the mother of three children.
